No thanks I dont need viagra!!!! (1 Viewer)

Hope these suggestions work for you Gwynne.

If all these suggestions and AOL fail you, you could try a new ISP and start afresh. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my combination of ticking boxes saying I don't want advertising when I register on sites, conservative surfing habits overall perhaps, use of Spy-Bot "search and destroy" in case something gets through and probably most importantly, an ISP which provides protection (and has evidently set up appropriate filtration as a default) has meant that I get NO spam (zilch, zero) in my mailbox after it being active a couple of years now.

Good luck.

This thread is begining to stray way of course Including links that
are offensive. We all know what nonsense is banded about via spam , we do not need to run some sort of contest to see who gets what.

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

I cant see any offensive links, but I assume these have now been removed (and quite rightly if they were offensive).

Sorry.

I didn't think aware that the text was that offensive, and the links were removed. Though upon reflection I suppose the subject matter could be thought so.

Steve, Paul and Walwyn, no harm done I hope. Presumably anyone exceptionally prudish shouldn't be prying around a thread with the word "Viagra" in the title. But I guess rules is rules about posting "offensive links" even if it was perhaps done as a test (I would rather call such links "links with too much liklihood of leading to offence"; maybe something the philosophically minded might argue over in the "Ruffled Feathers" forum). BTW, I thought Gwynne, who initiated the thread with the request for help, seemed happy with the general tone.

This thread did get me thinking about how bird forum protected my own email address; particularly as I was boasting (well not exactly) that my mail box is spam-free. I had a play with my user settings to see if I could change them and when I didn't succeed, admin. (was that you Steve?) kindly offered to help. I think currently my private email address is hidden from members (the good, the bad and the ugly) which I feel happier with. So much to learn...
