Blue Tit Nests (1 Viewer)

Hi All, we have a blue tit nest box on our house wall. 2 years ago it was occupied and blue tits raised a family there. Last year I cleaned out the box early spring and we saw some activity later but observed no signs of chicks. I cleaned out the nest box today and found lots of moss and a few feathers, but no signs of occupancy last year, eg droppings, eggshells, etc. Have I cleared out last year's nest, or have I undone some poor bird's preparatory work for this year? Apparently some blue tits start nesting activity from January on. If so, can I do anything or does the bird have to go through the whole process again?
