I have an old Canon Rebel XT and a Celestron Ultima 100 spotting scope.
I bought the Celestron t-ring for the Canon EOS model and it fit the camera easily. The Celestron comes with the adapter built in, so the directions on the Celestron website said you just slide the rubber off the eyepiece, attach the t-ring to the D-SLR and attach the camera to threaded adapter on the scope eyepiece, which I did. But when I look through the camera viewfinder it’s just a blur. Adjusting the focus on the spotting scope does nothing. Clearly the camera itself is what is out of focus. But how do I focus the camera without a proper lens? The autofocus won’t work with just a t-ring and the only way I know of to switch to manual focus is the button on the side of the 35-80m lens, which was removed to use the t-ring.
Sorry for this stupid question. There is probably an easy answer (hoping I’m just missing something obvious).
