After a long spell without ringing, today I joined the Nairobi ringing Group for an early Morning ringing session at the National Museums of Kenya grounds. With the start of the rainy season, we were lucky to catch some Northern Migrants presumably heading back to their breeding grounds in the palaearctic region. We mist-netted a Willow Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler and the Eurasian Reed Warbler which is not very common in comparizon to the very similar Marsh Warbler.
Other afro-tropical species caught were,
Baglafecht Weaver - 3
Streaky Seed-eater - 3
Black-headed Weaver - 1
Spectacled Weaver -1
Common Bulbul 1
African Citril - 4
Chinspot Batis - 1
Red-billed firefinch - 2
