Manfrotto RC128 quick release plate - can pin be moved ? (1 Viewer)

Basically what I'd like to know is if the little pin that is on the quick release plate (in addition to the screw) can be move. I don't think it has any function ?! As it stands I can't fit my scope onto the tripod properly.

That pin is an anti-rotation pin for video cameras.

It is not necessary to use it with your spotting scope.

The one on my plate was removed by pulling (or pushing from the bottom side).

Squeeze the pin on the bottom side of the plate and push it out.

This has been described here before. They used to screw out but they're now a split pin.
