Good Evening,

I've booked a trip to Iceland in Feb next year. I'm looking for any advice as to sites for Barrow's closer to Reykjavik around that time of year. I'm guessing the Gyrs will be around Reykjavik at that time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Barrow's Goldeneye is present in the winter (and sometimes all year) on the River Sog which is one hour's drive east of Reykjavík. Best just doing a search on eBird and you'll see where they hang out.

There will indeed be Gyr Falcons in Reykjavík in winter but they range quite widely and so it's ususally a case of being in the right place at the right time. I see them quite regularly in winter along the seafront east of the harbour and the Harpa Concert Hall. They also hunt ducks and gulls by the lake on the city centre.

Thanks for the info. Is it possible to get public transport to the sites as i wont be hiring a car. If not can you recommend any local guides to book for a day?

Cheers
