Trying to ID a bird (falcon?) (1 Viewer)

I spotted a large bird on my patio this morning and I am trying to identify it. I think it was a falcon (or kite?) but not sure. I think falcon because there is a sharp V at the front of the wings. I'm a Patio & yard bird feeder bird-watcher, but not a "birder", so I'm probably not describing correctly. The bird was a charcoal black or dark grey all over with a white head. I have never seen anything like it before and could not spot it in any pictures today. We do have bald eagles in North Louisiana, but this bird was not large enough to be an eagle and the colors don't seem to match up with immature eagles. Can anyone give me any clues as to what I saw?

thanks David

thanks for the feedback. our visitor is darker gray, almost charcoal, but it does look like this Mississippi Kite otherwise. it's been a treat to watch for the whole neighborhood. I'll show off now and tell everyone what it is.
