really hard to decide between cachinnans and barabensis here.
the only november pic on gull-research.org of barabensis is this: http://gull-research.org/barabensis/2cy/2cynov01.html - which is a good match in terms of plumage state (with many grey lesser coverts). but of course all these taxa are very variable. steppe gull usually is a bit more advanced in look (more grey on upperparts), so such a plumage would be slightly more in line with caspian gull. bill matches both.
