Hi!

This is the first Skua I've seen and I have trouble identifying it. Is it an Arctic Skua?

The photo shows one bird - different shots.

Thanks in advance!

It appears to be an Arctic Skua.

ID is based on the structure - look how chesty (Peregrine-like) the bird is. It looks to have a relatively short "rear end", a long narrow bill and "pointy" wings.

Pluamge-wise it looks typical -no obvious under-tail or underwing barring and nicely capped.

Yep, an Arctic Skua. Its always worth studying every Arctic Skua you see, because then hopefully Pomarine and Long-tail will stand out that much more. They still cause problems to even the most experienced though, so you did well.
