8x56: BL v BV/BR v HG (1 Viewer)

So Minox have three versions of 8x56 binoculars.

Interesting and a tad confusing. It appears two versions are current, possibly not as good as the HG discontinued version which was far more expensive and presumably the best in some way?

How do the three versions compare optically, and in use?

How does the best 8x56 Minox (HG?) compare to the Swarowski SLC or Zeiss Conquest HD offerings?

Regards
Andy

the only real down side of the HG is they never upgraded it from silver to dielectric....so a smidge dimmer.....the BL are fine but not HG quality at all more mid priced bins...build, feel, ect……...the Minox decline was all brought about by Blaser the current owners of Minox….they promote their own overpriced bins.....

Thanks for this. I still find it strange that the discontinued HG are double the price of the later BL & BV versions, the HG can be bought new for £750. And found there's a fourth Minox version for sale new, the 8x56 HD which are £860 ! Are they a newer HG ?

Have been tempted to try, but shall reign in my GAS.

the HD is a newer model ….actually its a BL HD....a nice binocular, but not up to the HG standards....there is also the HG APO but this model was not made in the 56mm version....
