Radios at spurn (1 Viewer)

Hi

Last time I was at spurn I noticed several people with radios and updates on bird sightings being relayed via the radios.
Can you hire the radios?
I have a VHF and could probably get the channel added but I need to find out who owns the channel and what the frequency is.

I don't go to spurn that often but it would be very handy to have the updates.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Cheers

B

I believe the radios used are short wave, and you have to have the channel has to be put in by a firm called Radphone which is based in Hull,
You also have to be a member of Friends Of Spurn and there is a fee to pay to use the licence

Thanks

I've been in touch with Radphone and they said it is a VHF channel and I need to get in touch with friends of Spurn.
