Does the cat climb the PO Tower in this one?

No, that's Kitten Kong.

THe Goodies swop their bike for a tin of beans, grow a huge beanstalk and then climb it in a version of It's Knockout and find the goose that lays the golden eggs.

That is familiar. I watched them all when I was a sprog but it will be good to see one again as they should be subtitled this time.

The Goodies where Monty Python for kids. Absolutely brilliant. Kind of weird now to think that when they all went down the pub after filming on location Mr Oddie was off birding somewhere. I never would have suspected when I was a kid.

And Bill admits to choosing locations as near as possible to good sites. Even in those days he was birding at the BBC's expense, the crafty so-and-so!

Brilliant! I haven't seen The Goodies since I was about six, possibly seven, years old....I can remember this episode though...vaguely LOL
One for our Euan...he's probably only known Bill AS a birder LOL

I think there might be some Portland sites to spot as this was definitely one of their favourite areas.

Look out for dear old 'Uncle' Eddie ('best of friends in the showers!') Waring.

I've an idea Bill saw something good during the making of this - alpine swift or bee-eater or something.
Geese dropping exploding golden eggs - priceless!

The Yellow Billed Cuckoo that he mentions in his Little Black Bird Book was at Portland but I've no idea whether it was during this one or not. I suppose that would have been October so perhaps we can get some clues from the trees, flowers, etc.

I have the Goodies DVD, it is a real classic, with all the great episodes, it still beats all the new rubbish comedy programmes by miles.

Thanks for this. :t: We've just bought a DVD player - this sounds a definite for my Christmas list!
