Russia has been monitoring the Arctic for a long time. The scientists there appear to be less convinced of AGW, even though Russia would surely benefit from a warmer climate. Their government decision to build up their fleet of nuclear powered icebreakers, at considerable expense, is at least an indication of doubts about the warming trend.
Interesting. Are their scientists not part of the 97% (or whatever the exact figure is), then? Or, like ours, are they simply being ignored by an irresponsible ruler?

I don't know. They had been skeptical in the past, but some of the more recent work expresses recognition that real changes are happening.

Unfortunately, coverage of Russian scientific work is very spotty and has fallen with the renewed East West chill. If there is a decent source, I'd love to learn about it.

Thanks for the link—made interesting reading as another illustration of how very complex the whole business is.
