That lens is on my wish list, but I do have the same camera. My advice would be to learn in particular the various focus modes (particularly vital for birds in flight). The authority on Sony dslrs is Gary Friedman, who publishes e-books about the cameras. If you want to better understand all the (many) options you have I would strongly suggest buiyng Gary\s book about the A77ii. I haven't had a chance to read my copy yet (I haven't had the camera that long), but I bought the one for the predecessor and it really is a fount of information that is impossible to get otherwise.

My only connection with Gary is that I regularly read his blog and that I have bought two of his ebooks. His webpage is at http://www.friedmanarchives.com/ebooks/index.htm.

Andrea

PS I haven't got any pics with this camera in my part of the gallery yet, but you can find pictures taken with the A77 (mark 1). Do feel free to ask if you have any specific questions.

There's some very good information out there about this camera, and I know that in particular the focus tracking feature is something that many people find very useful. I haven't had a chance yout to experiment with that when it comes to bird photography.
