Hello everyone,
When I went to Finland for birding I came back with this picture.
On the left I see a beautiful Baltic Gull, but there is quite some darkness difference in the upper-parts with the two gulls on the right.
Does someone have an explanation for this ? I red that because of older and worn feathers the upper-parts can turn browner. But on the bird on the right they don't really seem browner, but just lighter grey..
Picture is taken in June 2016 in the No man's land between Finland and Russia at approximately the same latitude as Kuhmo. On the map you can see where the picture has been taken.
Thanks already for the answers,
Alexander
