Do they occur in the UK?

As Paul said, not yet. They're unlikely to get here under their own steam but there's a 'slight' possibility that they may come in with horticultural produce (fruit and houseplants). Its normal distribution is the southwestern Mediterranean Basin, from the southern Iberian Peninsula to the Sahara and from Morocco to Egypt.
