Collimation cost (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have a rough estimate of what it would cost for a 8X42 T FL to get the focus rehabbed, i.e cleaned up and made more firm and to get collimation work done. Additionally to get replacement eye cups and lens covers. I am thinking of work to be performed by Zeiss, these are second hand so no warranty.

Hello A.W,

If it is a USA purchased Zeiss, it may be covered by the Zeiss USA lifetime warranty. ‘Phone Zeiss with the serial number or try registering online.

Happy bird watching,

Thanks Arthur and James. I will address this further on Sunday.

They're probably right. If it is not covered under warranty, send it to Cory Suddarth. He's top drawer. Of course, if I hang out my shingle, again, he goes back to being optical dog meat.

Calm down, Admin types, he been my best friend for 42 years. On the other hand ... I've never had any taste! :cat:

Thanks Bill, I have to send out a few to him, but these I will send to Zeiss after I get some sleep. Three 16hour days in a row are making me go for some sleep.
