This may interest the forum. As an SOC member I have just republished as ebooks two much sought-after books by J M McWilliam, a founding member and Honorary President of the SOC.

The Birds of the Firth of Clyde and The Birds of the Island of Bute are now on sale for reading on ebook devices (Kindle, iPad) and smartphones (iPhone, Android) and also for reading on PCs and Macs. McWilliam’s work is referenced in books like The Birds of Scotland (SOC 2007), Birds of Argyll (Argyll Bird Club 2007) and the forthcoming Birds of Bute (Buteshire Natural History Society/SOC 2012).

The ebooks are priced at £3.29 each. Second hand copies of the original books often cost over £100.00. Profits are going to the SOC.

You can find out about them on www.jmmcwilliam.co.uk
