Hello from New Jersey (1 Viewer)

So it took a trip to Costa Rica to get me excited about birds. We went on a Backroads family excursion and one of the gentleman in the group was a self professed "bird nerd". He pointed out different species to my family and I found it all fascinating. He also mentioned that New Jersey has the most diverse bird population in the United States.

I have always loved photography and just purchased a telephoto lens to begin collecting pictures of what I see. I have a beach house that we use on weekends and that will supply some variety.

I look forward to learning as I'm new at this.

Hi Jeff and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Welcome to Birdforum! I'm sure you'll find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits.

Hi Jeff, and welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
I think the gentleman from New Jersey is incorrect. Arizona, the Texas coast and the California coast all have a higher diversity of birds than New Jersey per biodiversitymapping.org.
