Hi,
Saw this guy at Mølen, southern Norway, a good site for spotting migratory birds in the autumn.
My first thought was Green Sandpiper, due to the dark and spotted pattern on it's back, but then the white extending up towards the neck of the bird is more like Common Sandpiper.
Also, the bird was very small - I have another image of it next to a White Wagtail, and it was about the same size, or slightly larger.
Thanks for your help!
Among other highlights of the trip were Bar-tailed Godwits, Ruff, Sanderlings, Red Knot and Ruddy Turnstone at the same spot, so a good day!
