It is a female Lesser Marsh Grasshopper, the following features all point to it being this species;
1. Pronotal side keels almost parallel
2. Wing length falls just short of abdomen, female Meadow usually has very short wings (brachypterous) only occasionally macropterous (long-winged)
3. Knees pale, should be black in Meadow
4. White line near costal egde of wing (linea scapularis)
5. Abdomen brown, usally more colourful in Meadow

Many thanks for your confirmed id Stuart and i must admit this is a field i know very little about.Is this species listed as common or otherwise in the UK?.

Dave.

Common in the South-Eastern half of England, expanding its range North & West, you are near the Northern edge of the current range though.
