I live around the Toronto/Buffalo area. We live on a quiet semi-suburban street.

My wife stopped me feeding the wild birds, in winter, because 'it drew vermin'. Is she right? How do I defence? We're just getting our worst storm yet!!

I've taken to knocking out the mini-rink and giving them a bath 3-4 times a week. It's a treat to watch.

Hi Webwalker and a warm welcome to you.

Now, more than ever, the birds need sustenance. Please do not stop feeding them during the coming snow storm. If anything, the vermin will provide a good meal for the Birds of Prey ;)

Hi Webwalker, welcome to BirdForum.

Please carry on feeding! they need all the help you can give em.

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope that you enjoy your visits. Birds really need to be fed all year round, but especially in winter. I have fed birds for many years, live in a very rural area, and have never attracted vermin.
