Extra objective lens covers a good idea? (1 Viewer)

I received a little card with my ELs that said if I registered online, I would receive $20 off an accessory order. Swarovski said they no longer have this promotion, but because the card came with my order, they would honor it.

I don't really have need of any accessories, but $20 is a nice savings, so I wondered if it would be wise to have two extra lens covers on hand? They seem to be the most-used part of the binoculars and might eventually wear out. A good idea?

I've got three of those coupons. I'd pass for a few reasons.

1) If you really end up using the objective covers regularly, and lose one, Swaro will probably replace it for free.

2) You probably won't end up using the objective covers regularly. They are annoying and on the 32mm they will fall off.

3) There's no reason on earth to pay $50 (even minus $20) for a lens cleaning kit, or any other crazy amount for anything else they offer. Except maybe straps. The strap is fantastic on the 42/50mm binos. Overkill on the 32mm.

By the way, if you want the best rainguard ever for the 32mm SV contact Zeiss and see if they have any rainguards left for the OLD Conquest 30mm. Just super. :t:

I agree with Mark here, they will be charging you for shipping, so that comes out of the
$20. You could just get a nice Swarovski cap, for free this way.
I would just go for that.

Thanks for the advice. You are correct that Swarovski would probably replace that type of part for no charge...wasn't thinking clearly!

I can't believe what they charge for the cleaning kit and case. Unreal.
