Would anyone be able to help me out with the ID of these two, please? Both were growing in a rather damp, dark, mainly deciduous wood. Many thanks.

Checking some images online, I'd say you're spot on with betony for the second one, Paul. The first one is proving a bit trickier. Many thanks for your input.

It looks like one of the Hieracium to me. Good luck with that one|:D| there are over 200 micro species:t:
