They fledged! (1 Viewer)

I know this is over a week late but I was getting the photos ready, etc. In the back garden a pair of Blue Tits nested. I watched the babies fledge on Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June. There were at least 7 or 8 fledglings, but there may have been more!

Here are some photos. I hope they are allowed on BF, as they did all come out the nest as newly adult birds.

Thanks Ronald. It had just come out of the nest and couldn't get used to the perch! It then flew/fell to the ground in picture 4 and eventually got fed by mum up at a higher place!

Thanks Katy and Paul. Yep, they sure do! 7-8 fledglings was great but there could have been more - I'm not sure of the exact number!

I took the nestbox down to have a look (but didn't dispose of anything as it is against the law at the moment!) and there were no unhatched eggs, just a trampled nest and a LOT of droppings!

Lovely David. I just watched four babies being fed by mum and dad on my birdtable. Not sure where they have nested though, it wasn't in any of my boxes.

Thanks songbird. That's great. It's lovely seeing the family around being fed - and they still make a huge noise wherever they go!
