art file format? (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I have been given a cd full of photo's and cannot open certain files, they are "art" format? i have never heard of this before and cannot find any mentioned on my PC (Microsoft XP) is there any software available that will open any Photo/Image files? there is also some BMP images on the CD and these won't open either? I have Microsoft Office 2007, Adobe Elements etc and have no problems opening JPEGs from my camera.
Any ideas?:smoke:

Hi Brian

".art" seems to be an AOL file
I found this

BMP files should open with Windows picture and Fax viewer which comes with XP but not sure about Vista

More on the enigma that is .art here.

BMP is a Windows bit map, most graphics progs should open them, certainally Elements should or you should be able to insert them into Office.
