Wow Weird Bird Sound, Boulder, Colorado! (1 Viewer)

Thank you I'm exited to see a response, my wife and I are very perplexed, we don't know much about birds but Ive never heard something like this. What a strange Sound, in the tree right outside our window, pretty annoying but interesting haha. It just kept on going.

Welcome to the forum, ChristAbundantLife.

This might be a Greater Anglewing, according to Ms Microtus, which is a species of katydid. She knows much more about insects than I do.

The ticking song, not the lisping song

ticking song is in the background of the louder song on this site

The two maps I've seen appear to show that Boulder is a little out of range. On the other hand, here is a record from Boulder County

Wow thanks a lot for the response, I think I can settle the case that this is the culprit!!! Very interesting that must be why we've never heard it because we are just out of their range of living area. I suppose it's not an exact match but maybe it's a similar relative.
