New Jersey Flycatcher (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have two images of a flycatcher that I think may be a Willow or an Alder. Maybe someone can ID this bird for sure. It was taken in New Jersey in the month of August.

Thanks for any help on this,

Tetoneon

I agree it's one of the two, but Willow and Alder cannot be reliably separated visually. Sibley says they are "essentially identical in appearance". They used to be a single species. The only reliable way to separate them is by voice.
