I'am new to birding and would like a recommendation on a field guide book for ocean birds of the north east united states.

Sibley is great - his illustrations of ocean birds are really good.
I think Birds of Europe (ISBN: 0691050546) also has great illustrations and id tips for ocean birds.

I don't know of any books solely on ocean birds but I am sure there are some out there.
