Taking torches in hand luggage (1 Viewer)

Has anyone had any trouble taking large powerful torches in hand luggage? I'm off to the Western Sahara soon, hoping to only use hand lugagge, and I am rather aware that my large torch would make a good truncheon and I don't want to have any problems taking it on the plane.
