Interactive world bird list needed - Excel? (1 Viewer)

All,

The UK 400 club has the very useful Excel spreadsheet of UK birds - a handy and interactive place to keep a count of species seen. Is there anything available on a global scale?

Many thanks,

Andrew

Ebird.org for example. They will prefer if you enter data in the form of trip lists, but will accept you entering for example all sightings for UK so far on one date (use date of 1/1/1900, include a note saying "list building" and preferably make that list invisible to everyone else afterwards). you can do the same for each country you have visited. By entering trip lists, you gain the ability to see what you have seen over the years in your garden or wherever else you bird, and the data become valuable for statistical analysis as well.

I use www.worldbirds.org which has a mapping portal. Users can add their trip reports, even retrospectively. It provides consolidated species sightings by Country but I am not sure whether it provides consolidated information by Continent/World. However, as the information is in their database then in theory this would be possible.
