Read about this in yesterday's Paper a Rare Woodpecker from Scandinavia known as a Wryneck was found in a British Garden and was then pounced by a Cat. The owner of the cat took the bird to the vet it died 5 days later poor thing.

And I much more wonder WHO EDITED MY POST for no reason and without any information left!?

I must confess I felt a little uneasy to see the way the bird was held for the press photo:-

However on the upside, as nowadays such things are played out on twitter in real time, maybe their next albatross will be identified before the release photos are published and the significant fund-raising opportunity will not be lost this time (as it was with the Yellow-nosed Albatross).

Not seen a Wryneck with a raised crest in the field - can't believe that it means the bird is relaxed:-

All the best
