Sparrow/bunting help please (1 Viewer)

Northern California. First impression because of crest was rustic bunting, but on closer look seems more like a savannah or song sparrow. Opting in the end for song because of color and streaks, though crest still makes me wonder. Please confirm or correct.
Many thanks.

Hi Bob,

That "crest" is just ruffled feathers, wind, etc. All features point to Song Sparrow - gray (vs. Rustic Bunting's white) supercillium, gray (vs. pink) bill, streaked (vs. clean with a dark "V") breast, or really any other plumage features. One of the hardest slopes to tackle getting into birding is learning expectancies and commonalities.
