Going down to Glastonbury for a week (This Thursday). Will be walking, car touring and a little bit of birding. So, any favourites places, and what will I see? Peter

Hi Peter

Shapwick heath reserve / Westhay nature reserve / Catcott reserve / Greylake rspb reserve .

Good choice! Will need to google them. Thanks.

For Cranes try the bridge to the east of Stathe looking SE. Had 4 there yesterday. 30 odd Cattle Egrets roost on Ham Wall with Great White Egrets. The Starling roost is spectacular and there are plenty of raptors around it. Also there are Hawfinches in quite a lot of the churchyards at the moment.
