A word of warning. Leica state these binoculars are waterproof, defn: impervious to water. THEY ARE NOT.
My pair leaked in Colombia this year, half-way through a birding trip. The binoculars were NOT damaged in anyway, allowing water ingress. Leica did repair the binoculars free of charge.

Leica (UK) refused to take any responsibility whatsoever for supplying goods which they claim to be waterproof, and suggested I take the matter up with the retailer in the UK. Legally they are correct. Morally they are not.

It does exactly what it says on the tin.......er....no
