shrubs....bird friendly

This spring we need to plant some bushes.....medium our yard and want to plant kinds that will attract. It would be helpful if someone from the Denver area has experience with this. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have read books, but personal experience is always the best. Thanks.

Take a tour of the Denver Botanical Gardens. There you can see the texture and size of the shrubs.

Various cotoneaster species are medium/large size shrubs with attractive fruit for birds in the winter time.

Western sand cherry medium size

Wayfaring Tree, slightly on large size

Golden Current, suckers and speads in my yard

Various serviceberry species, some on large size

naking cherry, medium size

serviceberries can be very delicious - I'd save those for myself.
Range: East Hawai'i, 3200-13800 feet elevation
