Just trying to add photo to Opus

How do you add a photo from the gallery to Opus where there isn't already one there?

Hi Dandsblair

You can't do it directly from the Gallery, it has to come from your computer. Click on the Upload File link in the LH pane (underneath the small search bar). Click on Browse then look for your picture and double click. You'll be taken back to the Upload screen.

Put some details in there about where/when you photographed the bird and your name.

Go to the Opus article for the species and click on the main Edit tab (above the name of the bird) and insert this coding:

[[Image:FILENAME.JPG|thumb|550px|right|MALE/FEMALE/SUBSPECIES ETC
Photo by {{user|Dandsblair|Dandsblair}}
LOCATION & DATE]]

Replace the wording in block caps with the correct wording (i.e. copy/paste the file name from the upload screen exactly).

When you've done, click on Preview and check it has worked - deleted the category for Missing Images and fill in the summary box with Picture uploaded. Then save.

It's really much easier to do than explain LOL.

If it doesn't work, save it anyway, and an Editor can help you complete the task.
