Bryce,

I don't remember seeing Steve's post on them but would appreciate it if you could point out the link. Will try to do a search for them.
Frank and Bryce,

I checked the Kruger website and I think they are the same binocular. At 49 bucks I'm going to give them a try. I still keep one of their 8 x 25 "Columbia" Back Countrys in my car, which I got at a closeout price of 89 bucks and if they come close to those in their view I think it will be a bargain. I would think, as a porro, they should be at least as good those Columbia's. I bought 2 of them and should have bought 2 more!

Bob

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42

Demo but listed as new pair $779 including free shipping. This is quite a bit less than what I paid for my demo binos a few weeks ago...

Bryce,

I can't find the edg demos at the cameraland web-site. Do you have a URL address? Thanks.

Well, now we know what happened to the EDG I diopter returns. They've been refurbed. And at that price, wow are they tempting!

Just a note of caution. I purchased a refurbished EDG I from Eagle Optics 15 months ago. It took that long but I ran out of diopter travel. They're back to Nikon. I'm waiting to hear if they will repair or replace.

not just the EDG, but the 8x32 Venturer LX (I assume that's accurate and it's the older version, not the newer LX-L "Premier") for $369.99 is pretty sweet. And the Premier 8x42 for $549.99 (although at that price I imagine some have to question if the Zen Prime HD has surpassed it?).

They probably are Kalahari's. Kruger has a history with Cablea's, making several models for them over the years. The Kalahari is very Yosemite like in feel and image. The set I looked at while in the Kruger facility had great image performance, but the field performance sucked...badly. It was like looking through an innertube that had a central viewing area less than half the size of the outer black border. Gave me the willies! I did post that someplace, but I have no idea where at this point . One assumes Cabela's (or Kruger for that matter) would see that was fixed. If they did that, then this is a winner for $50.00.

Have been watching this ad for a while. Unfortunately I'm financially disabled at the moment. It's a pity these would pass unnoticed, right?

Well I recently got given a 7x40 monocular. Focuses via the objective and is quite sharp. Very handy for me! Just needs cleaning internally.

What's the item number of the SE, stereotruckdriver? I couldn't find that one with a search.

Thanks. Even though I now know exactly what the item is called, and that it's listed on the US site (as opposed to Canada, UK, etc.), I can't get it to appear by searching for those terms. How odd. I wonder what else I'm missing!

Yes, I can find it by searching for the item number provided by marinemaster. But if you go to eBay.com and search for "Nikon Premier SE", for example, does it show up? It doesn't for me: I get a message saying "your search returned 0 items."

Forgive me for droning on about this, but attached is a screenshot of what happens when I search for "nikon premier se". As you can see, it bizarrely shows up in the "alternative matches" area (though not always, and it depends whether I'm logged in or not).

I've tried clearing the cache, removing cookies, different browsers, etc. Oh well.

Everything looks good. You've got All Categories selected. You might click on Advanced Search and see if anything weird is checked.

I suspected that it might be defaulting to the French ebay and the ones at the bottom are international sellers, but it doesn't say that.

I don't know what else it could be.

Good deal on the bay right now of the Sightron SII Blue Sky 8x42 for $119 brand new. Excellent bins! Especially for that price. Only kicker is returns not accepted.

That is an excellent deal in my opinion. If I hadn't already bought Stets then I would probably buy both! The optical performance is excellent and the build quality is very good. The more I use them the more they remind me of the Leica Trinovids I once owned both in terms of handling and optical performance...except the Sightrons are notably lighter. I would love to put the two side by side to compare.
