Barred Owl on the fence (1 Viewer)

buckskin hawk

Oklahoma Birder
Had a really good look tonight at a Barred Owl. He was sitting on the fence and diving into the pasture at my barn. I was in the car and my lights didn't affect him at all.

In the car was one of my Girl Scouts from one of our low-income housing units in Tulsa. I was taking her home and just stopped by the barn to feed my horse. After feeding we returned and he was still there sitting on the fence. He swooped close to the car and the girl was amazed at his wing span and his quiet flight. Seeing an owl like this up close is a thrill but seeing it with one of my scouts is awsome.
