"British Birds" - Sept 08 (1 Viewer)

An absolutely humdinger of a September issue of 'BB' has just landed on the doormat. If you want any excuses to subscribing to the original British birding journal then how about:-
1) an article on transatlantic vagrancy of landbirds by Norman Elkins
2) one on Eagle Owls in Britain by Tim Melling, Steve Dudley & Paul Doherty
3) a note on October Greenish Warblers by Andy Stoddart
4) letters from those two ornithological Leviathons W.R.P.Bourne and DIMW
5) a clutch of interesting notes & reviews plus Dave Davenport's obit.

To misquote a line from an old sit com "Never mind the width, feel the quality" - actually, at over 50 pages the 'width' ain't bad either!

Personally I can't imagine birding without 'BB', 'Birding World' and 'Birdwatch' (the latter from the newsagents as I'm still pretending I've cut myself down to two magazine subscriptions as an economy measure!),
John
