Any experience of Hama Cable release? (1 Viewer)

Like others on this forum I am looking to change my digicam to improve on my initial beginnings with an old Fuji 4700 zoom.

Using this camera has shown that I really need a release of some sort, and wondered if anyone had experience of the Hama offering i.e. their cable release for digital cameras (00005345) (link = Hama cable release)

It's available at Amazon (Link here) for just £9.49.

To hold the camera I've been using the Bader Microstage 6030 (Link) which seems to work pretty well for a basic support to get stated with. It's available from David Hinds (Link) for around £30.

Look forward to any replies.
