What do you do about the sticky focus wheel? (1 Viewer)

I've had a pair of swift roofs for about 2 years. Recently I've felt a kind of dry/sticking sensation at about the mid point on the focus wheel. Perhaps it is due to my habit of constantly rolling the focus wheel back and forth like a poker player stacking his chips in a tournament. Maybe I could have mucked it up with some insect repellant.-Anyhow -I was wondering if there is a home remedy for this problem?-Do you think the problem can become worse if it is not taken care of? :stuck:

LOL - I am no expert, but what do you think about cleaning the grime out with a q-tip and then applying some petroleum jelly to the gear. Just a thought.
