My wife discovered this Caterpillar whilst gardening and it attached itself to her coat. It is about 3 to 3.5cm long. Anyone know what it is please?

Hi
It's the caterpillar of the Dot moth, Melanchra persicariae (Linnaeus, 1761). It's polyphagous, feeding on a wide range of herbaceous plants.
