Some may have seen this on the news but if you haven't this might be of interest. There seems to be an exceptional showing of this around the Welsh coast this year. If you look on Twitter/ Youtube/ Facebook etc there are some incredible images and footage taken. At Aberavon, Port Talbot, the display has been there most nights, attracting many locals and photographers, though sometimes it's less predictable and some have needed multiple visits to witness it. There is little pattern to the displays but the best are in the darkest hours of 11pm-3am ('astronomical twilight') and some people have swum through it.

It has also been seen a few times at Penmon Point, Anglesey, but seems to be more erratic there, as well as a few other spots between Cardiff and Swansea.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area and worth a look at the online footage. There is also a fast-growing Facebook group dedicated to FAQ's and latest sightings, etc.

I'll be in N Wales for a week from this weekend so will be keen to hear of any reports around Anglesey myself. The continued settle weather seems to bode well for it lingering for some time yet.
