Hello all,
I expect this is just a California Ground Squirrel from Joshua Tree NP. But it does have a tail looking more flat than what I have seen on other individuals. Any insight?

thanks
Niels

I think because it is on a flat surface it is making the tail go flat. They do have bushy tails.

BTW, Joshua Tree is my sons most favorite place to visit when he goes to CA
