Help Identifying Bird by Call (1 Viewer)

Hey folks,

I'm not sure how much you can help me, but I am hoping that someone might have an idea.

Today, I was working in the woods of western Maine and I heard a bird that I had never heard before. The sound was similar to that of a flute or piccolo. It called out with a 1-2 second call at one pitch, and then bent the sound either a half pitch up or down right before ending its call. It did this in various pitches for over 20 minutes.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for letting me use your forum. :t:

Me too. I was thinking Wood Thrush because the song is so amazing you would want to know what bird it was.
