Wahlberg's Eagle? Double Checking (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I am 99% sure that I have a picture of a Wahlberg's eagle here, but since this is my first positive ID of a Wahlbergs I have to double check. It was circling with Yellow-billed, Black kites, and White Storks around the garbage dump in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

As I understand, the field marks are roughly:
  • Yellow-Billed Kite: dark eye, yellow-bill (diagnostic)
  • Black Kite: light eye, light head, black tipped bill.
  • Wahlberg's Eagle: dark eye, black tipped bill, small crest, short straight tail.

I have attached three pictures:
  • #1 Wahlberg's Eagle ??? (Addis Ababa, 2018/02/22/17:00)
  • #2 Yellow-billed Kite (Addis Ababa, 2018/02/22/17:00)
  • #3 Black Kite (Addis Ababa, 2018/01/13/08:00)

Sorry to say, but the first is also a Yellow-billed Kite.
Wahlberg's Eagle for one thing has feathered Farsi.

Agree on the third as Black Kite.

The first has a black-tipped bill though? Are you suggesting its a black/yellow-bill cross, or does the yellow-bill have a black tip when immature?

I know F and T are close on the keyboard, and so I'm disappointed not to become acquainted with the first language with feathers...;);)
