Bulbul, Si Phangnga NP, Thailand, (1 Viewer)

Just an earthbound misfit
England
Poor shots of this bird in the forest of the NP last week. My best guess from my Robson guide is Grey-cheeked Bulbul but I am not too confident with this ID.
The bird clearly has a raised crest and white puffed feathers in the throat area.
GCB fits for range but so does the similar Ochraceous Bulbul.
White-throated and Puff-throated are also very similar but are apparently out of range

Any help appreciated
thanks alan

Did you get any more images? I suspect Ochraceous Bulbul, but I think that Puff throated also occurs in the general area (according to ebird). I seem to remember Ochraceous Bulbul being more frequent than Puff throated when I visited Thailand, though admittedly I didn't spend any time on the western peninsula.

Hi Daniel
no - I was very lucky to get these images - it disappeared after just a few seconds
According to Robson, PTB is out of range although I agree it does look a good candidate and that guide is from 2002 so perhaps it now occurs in the area
thanks alan
