Two birds in San Diego (1 Viewer)

Both photos were taken in the San Diego area.
I am wondering whether the hummingbird is a Rufous or Allen's - both are found in this location.
The "bird" - is it a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron or a Bittern?

Appreciate help with ID's - thanks much.

the hummingbirds are very hard to tell apart and I don't think you can with this image.
you can just say Selasphorus

If you have any other shots of the Hummingbird(especially the back and tail) it might help. From this photo alone... I agree leaving it at Selasphorus is the best.
