Found very little bird on the road without parents coming, what should I do? (1 Viewer)

I took it home and wish to call animal control for help tomorrow but somebody told me the best way is to put it under the tree near by. I can't locate nest nearby so should I just put under the tree? There is a tree about 40 feet away though. Thanks for the help!

Park it up in a tree (not under, where cats can get at it!) as nearby as possible. The parents will return to it when you are out of sight :t:
